Spammers Burn in Hell

03 Mar

Yesterday, I received my very first spam comment on the ol’ bloggy blog. While Wordpress is remarkably spam-proof (especially compared to Movable Type), one spam comment is one more than I have ever received while using Textpattern, which, thanks to its “forced preview” feature on all comments, is virtually immune to the plague. (Note to Wordpress developers: consider forced preview for the next version.)

I hate spam with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. More than being simply annoyed, I am personally offended by the very existence of both spam and the people who promulgate it. They can all suck a tailpipe.

Seriously, spammers: kill yourselves. Do the human race a gigantic favor and remove your defective chromosomes from the gene pool – preferably before you breed. At this crucial, tortured point in our history, when Reverse Evolution seems to be in full swing and the human race is at the mercy of chuckleheaded lunatics prepared to kill us all over differing definitions of their Invisible Sky Buddy, we cannot afford to have humanity dumbed down any further. Kill yourselves, kill yourselves, kill yourselves now.

Anyhoo, in response to this affront, I have turned on coment moderation. If you comment, and it doesn’t show up immediately, don’t sweat it. As soon as I approve it, your pithy words will magically appear. And once you’ve been approved once, you can comment, unencumbered, to your heart’s content.

Unless, of course, you piss me off.
