Yer Doin’ a Heckuva Job, Chertie!
Outrage! This morning, Dear Leader and his handpicked Homeland Security director, Michael Chertoff, are under fire from the insufficiently patriotic denizens of New York and Washington DC. These blue state nogoodniks are upset that their cities will be receiving massive cuts in security funding. This laughable rage blithely ignores the correct analysis on the part of DHS officials that NYC, the nation’s financial and cultural capital, has no national monuments to protect and that DC, the nation’s political capital, is a low-priority Al Qaeda target. (And besides, New York’s lost funding is completely their own fault. If these objectively pro-terrorist terrorist targets wanted to be protected, they should’ve emailed their application instead of faxing it. Duh!)
While the non-targets of NYC and DC may have lost some money, Chertoff and his department were right on ball in other parts of the country, correctly ascertaining the dire terrorism threats faced by Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Louisville, Charlotte, Memphis, and Milwaukee.
The heroic Brownie may be long gone from federal service, but it’s heartening to know that his outside-the-box thinking lives on at Homeland Security. Glory!
Now watch this drive.
