Ah, Seattle. My adopted (and soon to be ex-) hometown is known for its liberal, tolerant, and downright quirky character. Seattle boasts the laxest pot law and largest legalization rally in the country, and is home to such oddities as a Volkswagen-eating troll, statues of Communist dictators, and the world’s greatest store, Archie McPhee. Every year on the summer solstice, you can treat yourself to the retina-thrashing sight of naked hippies on bicycles.
Strangely, though, Seattle’s tolerant attitude doesn’t extend to strip clubs. The mayor and city council have been relentless in their efforts to zone and/or legislate the city’s four existing nudie joints out of business. Now, it appears that the cops have been aiding those efforts to eliminate vice… by, um, using public funds to purchase hundreds of lap dances:
